DSC to host MARCHA
From August 14 – August 17 the Desert Southwest Conference will host the 37 annual assembly of MARCHA (Methodists Associated Representing the Cause of Hispanic/Latino American). This is a national gathering that rotates among Jurisdictions and this year it will be held at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Phoenix AZ.
Phoenix Area Bishop Minerva Carcaño will be in attendance at this exciting event and encourages everyone who can attend to do so, “The event is open to anyone who would like to come,” Bishop Carcaño said, “And it is an excellent opportunity to learn about Hispanic ministries as leaders in Hispanic ministry gather from across the United States and Puerto Rico. There will also be guests from Latin America and other parts of the Caribbean.”
The theme of the assembly is “Social Holiness: MARCHA, Towards a Future with Justice.” The main presenter is Dr. Hugo Magallanes, a noted scholar member of the faculty at Perkins. Continuing Education credit is also available for participants.
