Conference-Wide Hands-On Outreach Ministry Project
A Joint Ministry with the Northwest Annual Conference Methodist Church of Mexico
OVERVIEW: The story of the Conference-wide Hands-on Outreach Ministry project is an exciting one transcending almost 5 years of "putting our Love into Action." During that period, almost thirty (30) of our Conference churches have been or are involved in this exciting opportunity to do the Lord's work in Mexico.
It is one of the most successful and transforming experiences ever experienced in the Desert Southwest Annual Conference.
This ministry is being done under a covenant between Bishop Jaime Vazquez the Northwest Annual Conference of the Methodist Church of Mexico) and our own Bishop Minerva Carcaño. We encourage all of our churches to continue to reach out, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to our neighbors to the south.
LIFE CHANGING DIFFERENCES. While major life changing differences have been made in Mexico, the real transformation has occurred in the hearts and souls of the many people from within our own Conference who have gone to Mexico to share in the love of Jesus Christ. Many volunteers returning to their homes in Arizona after a work team experience have been heard to say "I came back a great deal richer than when I went." Such is the way when we follow John Wesley's teachings that "the world is our Parish" and following the mandate in the Great Commission.
LOCATIONS SERVED: Our joint ministry takes us to two (2) major cities in the northern-most state of Sonora, Mexico. Those two locations are Agua Prieta and San Luis Rio Colorado.
