It is with great honor I recommend to you the Rev. Sharon Ragland as a candidate for the office of Bishop. I have worked with Sharon on the Cabinet of the Desert Southwest Conference for the past year and have worked with her on many district and conference committees before that time. As Dean of our Cabinet she has shown a strong ability for leadership as well as being a team player. She has a strong vision for an Annual Conference and is extremely capable of pulling that vision together. Her Vision includes the Western Jurisdiction.
At General Conference she worked well with the heads of other delegations and leaders from other Annual Conferences in visioning the future of the United Methodist Church. Sharon is personable, heartfelt and strong in her convictions. She has a heart for inclusiveness and a love for humankind. She will make an excellent Bishop.

I have been blessed to serve with Pastor Sharon, as her District Lay Leader for the past 4 years. I have attended All Church Conferences, with her, for 42 churches for 4 years, as well as participated on the many District Teams. I have seen first hand the respect she gives to all, Pastors and laity alike. She begins everything she does with prayer. I have heard many wonderful sermons, seen how pastoral she is in all situations, always bringing a thoughtful, encouraging word, inclusive in all she does, works to be sure all have been heard, comes with an open mind, makes decisions prayerfully and is passionate about serving her God. She shares her love for God by all she says and does. The United Methodist Church will be blessed to have her as a Bishop.
