District Superintendent,
Rev. Dr. Robert Burns

Rev. Dr. Robert Burns was appointed by Bishop Carano as Central East District Superintendent beginning July 1, 2010.  Previously, Bob served as pastor of Green Valley United Methodist Church in Henderson, Nevada for 15 years. He has also served Sunrise Mountain UMC in Las Vegas, St. Matthew's UMC in Newbury Park, California and First UMC in Tucson, Arizona.  Additionally Bob has been a U.S. Navy Chaplain on both active duty and in reserve status. He and his wife, Paulette, are pleased to relocate to Arizona which is their childhood home.

Administrative Assistant,
April Martinez

April Martinez joined the Desert Southwest Conference as the Administrative Assistant to the Central East District in December 2006. She is an active member of PAUMCS (Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries) both locally and nationally. She is currently serving as the Vice President of the PAUMCS Desert Southwest Conference Chapter and also serves on the national Professional Training and Standards committee.

April and her husband David were married in March, 2006. They have a daughter named Evelyn, born on October 27th, 2008. The Martinezes live in Tempe and are active members of the United Methodist Church.
