Church to Church
What is Church to Church Ministry? This ministry was formed nearly 20 years ago to maintain a covenant based connection in Mexico with our Methodist brothers and sisters on a church-to-church basis. This ministry is being carried out under a Covenant Agreement signed by the Bishops of our conference and the Northwest Conference (Methodist Church of Mexico). Two main objectives – both to the Glory of God – are:
a. Connecting the people of God. The primary goal of Church to Church is to establish relationships between congregations from our conference and those in the Northwest Conference. There are many ways in which congregations may be in relationship with each other. Most are maintained through telephone and written communications, and weekly or monthly prayers for each other during worship services. Some relationships also include visit exchanges.
b. Furthering the Kingdom of God. Getting to know our Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ can be a spiritual experience in itself. Placing emphasis on the people in each church instead of on specific projects creates life-changing experiences for many people. Worshiping together allows for a cultural exchange between the congregations, and for individuals, and glorifies God.
