The Explorers will be in search of the secrets of God's kingdom this summer. Our exploration will take us into the parables of Jesus; and we'll look at the Master Storyteller, Jesus himself.  As the stories invite us to look at ourselves and the world around us, it will certainly be a mysterious adventure that will include exploration of the Mingus Camp, of relationships, through other engaging activities. So, come... be prepared to explore, discover and share all of God's wonderful secrets together!

At Camp Discovery, we invite you into a fantastic realm of discovery where we will find connections between what we can discover in Jesus' Parables and the amazing environment that is Mingus Mountain. Camp Discovery will help to open eyes, hearts and minds to God's presence as campers explore nature, the environment, and the habitat of Mingus Mountain while reflecting upon the stories of Jesus. Family groups will build relationship and community through interactive experiences with nature, worship, crafts, astronomy, games, and physical activities. God's kingdom is an upside down kingdom. God treasures those who are last and least and treasures each of us. At Super Camp, we will seek to live into the upside down Kingdom of God as we explore the parables of Jesus. Through outdoor learning, active games, music, drama, and more, come and discover how we can respond to God who can use even our smallest actions to build the upside down Kingdom of God.

Ever dream of finding buried treasure? In the movies, pirates search for buried treasure in order to find gold coins, precious jewelry, and riches beyond belief. What they don’t know is that the most precious of treasures is right in plain sight…in our Bibles! This year at Mingus Mountain Senior High Camp we will unlock the precious treasure found in the Bible by exploring the parables of Jesus. Through our explorations, we’ll discover everyday stories about everyday people, told by Jesus to help his followers understand the Kingdom of God…and in between, we’ll explore the beauty of God’s kingdom that is Mingus Mountain Church Camp.  We hope you will join us on the treasure hunt of a lifetime!

Odyssey Camp (MMJR12)

We are calling YOU, God is calling YOU -- to join in the Odyssey.  We’ll play, pray, laugh, rest, smile, share, worship, stargaze, dance, jump, throw Frisbee golf, explore, discuss, hike, learn, imagine, breathe.   We’ll practice and understand how our smallest acts of kindness can be so powerful.  We’ll share stories of how we ourselves have been God’s hands, God’s feet and God’s voice.  This Odyssey will be full of the gifts of God – Acceptance, Love and Grace – everything we need to fill our vessels for our travels as Disciples of Jesus.  We are calling YOU – join us in this unforgettable Journey!

$310 Rate: The price is the amount we spend during the week of camp for your camper to participate. These costs include the food, the people cooking the food, keeping the camp ready for campers, program supplies, and the training, food and lodging for the volunteer leaders.
