Annual Conference Mission Project
The Conference Board of Global Ministries and the Conference Task Force on Children & Poverty are pleased to announce the details of this year's Annual Conference Mission Project: Happy Feet! Make somebody's feet happy - sock 'em! Like a warm foot massage, like a soak in the tub, like a tea cozy for your toes ~ we need socks! Any kind, any size, any color. Tube socks, ankle socks, kid’s socks, bobby socks.
Whether you're poor, homeless, or crossing the desert - you're feet take you where you want to go. When your feet hurt, you hurt all over. Healthy feet contribute to a healthy body. One thing we can do is give people a clean pair of socks. It is not the solution, it is not the answer, but it is a start. If you want to put a smile on someone's face put a pair of socks on their feet - Happy Feet!
Please do not bring the socks to Annual Conference; rather socks are to be distributed locally to mission efforts within your area. When you come to Annual Conference, be prepared to share the number of pairs collected so we will know the impact of our mission.
Churches are being asked to collect a dollar (or more) per pair of socks donated. Your donation will be allocated to international efforts aiding people living in poverty. See you at the Happy Feet conference table in June! Checks should be made payable to the Desert Southwest Conference c/o Happy Feet.
