Archives and History
The DSC Commission on Archives and History is responsible for collecting, preserving, and making accessible the historically significant records of the annual conference and its agencies; encouraging and assisting the local churches in preserving their records, compiling their histories, and celebrating their heritage; providing for the permanent safekeeping of the historical records of all discontinued churches; and much more.
Contact the Archivist if you are interested in serving on the DSC Commission for Archives and History.
Why do we celebrate our heritage?
We celebrate because it is important to remember who we are.
We celebrate so that we can honor those who went before us.
We celebrate because there is much to learn from history.
We celebrate because history is a ministry of the church.
We celebrate because we want to tell other about our hertiage.
The Desert Southwest Conference Archives are housed at the United Methodist Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Please view our collections page to learn more about what records are the Archives. Researching in the Archives is by appointment only.
